Welcome to the OC Engineer home page!
What is OC Engineer?
OC Engineer is a student-run, nonprofit organization where students are dedicated to promoting the love for all fields of engineering. Through engineering workshops and hands-on classes, our mission is to encourage members of the community to develop their engineering skills. At the moment, we have three departments:
Three levels of Arduino projects are seperated into monthly classes. There is an admission fee, but you get to take your projects home! Specialized volunteers will help out with your microcontroller experience.
There will be a series of three classes in a session, with one class a month. The classes will be the second Saturday of each month, from 6 PM - 8 PM at 820 Roosevelt.
Members of the OC Engineer robotics team build robots to participate in different levels of robotic competitions, including FLL and FRC. Oh, and we also break robots apart.
OC Engineer provides students the opportunity to participate or volunteer in exciting rocketry and events. Through the process of prototyping, testing, and launching model rockets, we aim developing a solid foundation in aerospace engineering. Each year, we send teams to participate in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC).
2014 - The first year we sent students to the TARC competition, both teams attended the finals in Washington D.C.
2015 - Of the two teams OC Rocketry sent to compete in TARC, Team I built a rocket that qualified for finals.
2016 - This year, there was only one team. OC Rocketry has recruited a 6 member team.
